OUR COMMITMENT

The AHOY are having a Unique 40 foot boat built that will enable people with disabilities to train and participate in boat handling skills without the need of the support of the able bodied. The craft will be built to their specification and be the first of its kind. Through this project people with disabilities will be empowered and have the ability to train not only people with disabilities, but also the able bodied. The project will show how people with disabilities cannot only participate actively but also how they can help and assist others.

This vessel will enable The AHOY Centre to extend its activities & courses for those with disabilities - directly engage people in working together with different abilities - be used for training to gain RYA qualifications - as a safety boat for other activities - encourage more people with disabilities to become actively involved in boating & sailing - be used by both the local community and Londoner's as a whole - promote an awareness of what people with disabilities can achieve

The craft will be powered by two diesel engines with jet out drives and Pure Energy will be donating all the fuel requirements to run this craft so that AHOY can meet its aims & objectives and carry on its great work in the community.
